Are you looking to optimize your home and workspace during COVID-19 restrictions? Here are some great tips from Engel and Volkers’ Bahamas License Partner, Colin Lightbourn, to make your prolonged stay in your home and workspace happier, healthier, and easier to manage.
Colin says, “Everyone understands the benefits of social distancing in ‘flattening the curve’ of the Coronavirus, but that doesn’t mean we all find it easy. Here are 12 top tips to help keep your mind and body in great shape and to ensure your family and community are cared for.”
- Make sure you keep yourself active in your home and work environment – you can practice Pilates, yoga or keep-fit routines at home or go for a walk, following the social distancing rules
- Rather than sitting down when working, set up a standing desk, which is better for your health and posture
- Gardening will provide healthy exercise and will lift your spirits
- Make sure you keep well hydrated
- Move your desk to a window where there is an inspiring view outdoors or be cheered by indoor plants
- When the weather allows, open a window and breathe in the fresh air
- If you are working from home, ensure you schedule-in plenty of breaks
- Sunlight can improve your mood and help reduce stress
- Good sleeping habits will pay dividends
- Wash your hands for 20 seconds, using ample lather and hot water, if possible
- Build-in little treats for you and your family into your day
- Keep in touch with those in need in the community through phone calls and video chat.
