What is the particular island that you are focusing on?

What is special/unique about Long Island?

Long Island is still somewhat an unknown destination for many. With only a few small hotels and a large number of vacation rental homes, the beauty of the island is untouched. Long island is very popular with fly-fishing and deep-sea fishing enthusiasts and those desiring to get away from it all. Our empty beaches and the famous Dean’s Blue Hole also attract people to our island.  Long island is dotted with local food and drink hangouts where you can meet the residents and visitors.  Small grocery stores and other services are available.  Even though we are remote, you can still connect to the outside world with your phones and other electronic devices.

How is the specific property affected now due to circumstances? What is positive about it?

With no travel between the islands until just a few weeks ago, Long Island was and still is COVID free.  Residents became involved in gardening and doing projects on their properties.  All of the tourism-related businesses/services came to a halt but are expected to reopen as of July 1st. Quite a number of our vacation homeowners chose to remain on the island instead of returning to their homes in the US or elsewhere because of the lack of interaction and a small population.  Those with beachfront properties could still enjoy the beach, and the majority of homes on the island have large yards so residents could always go outside and enjoy the outdoors.  As the country is still not fully reopen, business is slower; however, I am communicating with my customers via email and video chats regularly.

Why do you still recommend this subject property despite circumstances?

Opportunities exist for those looking to own property on the island.  Good value for money can be found here.

What is the future of this area later in the year/next year?

I believe that there may be an increase in real estate sales on the island in the future as city dwellers may now want to have that second home in a more remote location.

What should people watch out for or look for to make a very informed decision that suits their best interests?

People should do their research on the island and what it has to offer.  A visit to the island is a must and viewing several properties in different parts of the island.

How can you show it and promote it to clients?

Just this week, I had two video tours.  As of July 1st, with the international flights coming back to The Bahamas, physical showings will take place with social distancing and face masks.  My properties are promoted online through our website, partners, and social media, so we never lost contact with potential buyers.
